I’m Windy Lou. My great-grandmother had a penchant for nicknames and silly phrases. She liked to add “lou” to the end of all the girls’ names in the family. No, Lou isn’t my middle name, but if you ask I’ll tell you. Yes, Windy is my real name. There is a silly story involved that I probably won’t tell you. I’m outspoken, terribly honest, and I talk too much. I play as hard as I work, and I love to learn.
I’m a 30-something step mom to two awesome kids. We watched the movie Milo and Otis together several years ago. in the story, some baby animals get confused about who they are and who they belong to. We all know I’m not the REAL mom, but the kids and I have an amazing bond. We needed something more so we adopted an endearing term to describe us: Chicken Mommy and Chicken Babies.
To make the most of my time with the Millionaire (my husband) and the kids, we decided that I would not work full time outside the home. That’s where eBay comes in. I dabbled for a little while before jumping in feet first. Last fall I was selected to tell my story for the eBay Money Makers web series. My entire family had a blast telling all about how having eBay in our lives has helped cushion our finances in crap-o-la economic times.
These four short videos tell the story in a much more fun way than I ever could. Behold!
And the DIY? Let’s just say I like projects. They don’t always turn out looking like the vision I have when I start, but hey, I get to use power tools. I love to play with fabric and paint. Photography is my other soft spot. If I don’t use my creativity in one way or another I go crazy.
